In a relief to upcoming renewable energy projects worth about Rs 3.5 lakh crore, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) announced recently that “delay on account of disruption of the supply chains due to spread of coronavirus in China or any other country” would be considered as a force majeure event. The center has ordered states & discoms to continue to buy power from generators. With renewable energy declared an essential service, it is business as usual for the operational projects. Ministry would like to receive industry feedback on following & more points:

What challenges are being faced in implementing contingency plans

What are the possible repercussions long term & short term of current situation

How are the investors thinking?
