In a relief to upcoming renewable energy projects worth about Rs 3.5 lakh crore, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) announced recently that “delay on account of disruption of the supply chains due to spread of coronavirus in China or any other country” would be considered as a force majeure event. The center has ordered states & discoms to continue to buy power from generators. With renewable energy declared an essential service, it is business as usual for the operational projects. Ministry would like to receive industry feedback on following & more points:

Prior to this, Sujoy spent 25 years at IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, most recently as Global Co-Head and Director of Infrastructure and Natural Resources, where he oversaw IFC’s US$12.6 billion portfolio in transport, utilities, power, oil and gas and mining.
