Biography
João Carneiro joined ING in 2011 and is responsible for the bank’s Project Finance group in São Paulo with responsibilities for Brazil. Prior to joining ING, João was co-head of Scotia Capital’s Infrastructure Finance - Latam. Previous experience includes Unibanco’s project finance department where he was responsible for advisory to the Government on concession structures as well as to private companies in concession bids and financing; DEPFA’s Infrastructure Finance group, as head of South America; and Citibank’s Venture Capital group, mostly involved in privatization bids. João was also head of BankBoston’s M&A department in Brazil. João holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
