Biography
Mathieu Lebègue is based in Sao Paulo and has been since 2018 Regional Head for Latin America at STOA, a €900m global investment fund dedicated to infrastructures and renewable energy. As such, Mathieu has led STOA’s investment into Sao Paulo Line 6 project, a 15-km underground metro project and largest PPP across the continent as of today; Mathieu has been also involved in several renewable energy projects across Brazil and the continent. Prior to STOA, Mathieu held various positions at Proparco (a Development Finance Institution), including Deputy Head for South America. Mathieu holds an Msc in Finance and Strategy from SciencesPo (Paris, France).
STOA is an impact fund created in 2017 by the Caisse des Dépôts and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) to finance infrastructure in emerging and developing countries. Deeply committed to promoting a shared DNA, this joint venture focuses on the promotion of ecological, digital, territorial and societal transitions through development finance and public interest missions. STOA draws on the experience of its peers, benefitting from both the investment expertise of the Caisse des Dépôts.
