Biography
Gonzalo is a Partner at Azora where he co-heads investments in the hospitality & leisure segment.

Gonzalo joined Azora in 2014 and has successfully led the acquisitions of more than 75 hotels and 20,000 hotel keys across Europe, totaling more than EUR 3 billion of investments, working with leading domestic and international hotel operators. He has also overseen the disposal of several hotels across Europe and participated in the sale of Hispania to Blackstone.

Before joining Azora, Gonzalo was a Vice-President in the investment banking division at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) in Madrid, spending almost two years in BAML’s IBK Real Estate & Lodging team in London. Prior to that he also worked for Deloitte.

AZORA is an independent private equity styled asset manager of real assets, based in Spain but investing across Europe and the USA. It currently manages €9.2 bn of AuM (once its various vehicles committed firepower is fully invested) with Hospitality and Living representing c. 70% of this. AZORA has a value-add approach with a strong track record in pioneering new assets classes in Southern Europe and a special expertise in building fully integrated platforms in operational assets classes.
