Biography

Sindo Oliveros is the CEO and CIO of the financial endowment for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), an international graduate-level research university in Saudi Arabia which started operations in 2009. Prior to that he managed the World Bank’s Pension Plan, Medical Plan and Endowments, and headed the World Bank’s Capital Markets and Financial Engineering Department. Before that he worked at the International Monetary Fund on adjustment programs in Latin America, Asia and Africa.
Over the years he has served in various Boards including: the Rockefeller Foundation Investment Committee, the United Nations Pension Plan Investment Committee, the Investment Fund For Foundations (TIFF), Sequoia Heritage
Fund, the Public Welfare Foundation, and the MSCI Advisory Council. He continues to be an active member in several of them.
